Today was Mirandas first communion Sunday. Because she is going into the third grade she no longer goes to childrens church. Since Annetta and I sing in the choir our custom has always been for Adam to sit on one of the front pews so that he can come up with us when the choir takes communion. Adam brought Miranda up and they settled in place beside me this morning. She was afraid and didnt want to participate. Adam calmed her down and guided her through what was going to happen before the pastor approached us. When he came up to us he excused himself and came back with gluten free wafers for Miranda. Later, I asked Adam how our pastor knew to get the wafers. I told Pastor Ken before the service that Miranda had Celiac and that she would need gluten free wafers for communion. That is how you take care of your sister. That is how you lead. I cant be more proud of him today.
