Today was Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah (aka: Feast of Trumpets by biblical Christians). It is one of the seven Holy Feast Days appointed by God. Understanding the Feast Days (or Appointed Times) of the LORD is important for every believer under His New Covenant. Because our spiritual eyes have been opened, we understand their deeper significance (beyond OT observance) as they relate to Christ’s work in this Dispensation of Grace. These seven holy days, instituted by God Himself, offer a prophetic picture of His plan of redemption for mankind, represent the appointed times HE has chosen as celebrations, give us insight into the seasonal order in which He will carry out each part of His plan, and some will continue to be observed even during Christ’s millennial reign (Zechariah 14:16-21; ). Jesus revealed: ”For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-20) Under the New Covenant, each appointed time helps to spiritually prepare Christ’s true Church (His Bride) for His return and reign. At present, ONLY the four Spring Feasts Days have been fulfilled by Christ: 1) PASSOVER – Fulfilled on the Day Jesus Died for Our Sins as the Sacrificial Lamb of God. 2) FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD – Fulfilled During the Days of Christ’s Burial. 3) FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS – Fulfilled on the Day Jesus Rose to Sit at the Right Hand of His Father 4) PENTECOST (Feast of Weeks) – Fulfilled on the Day the Holy Spirit was Sent to Indwell in God’s People. The 3 remaining Feast Days that occur in the Fall months are still pointing us to future redemptive events and will be fulfilled in their correct order and season (appointed time) – though no one will know the year. These Feasts include: 1) FEAST of TRUMPETS -- Points to Christ’s Second Coming for His Bride 2) DAY OF ATONEMENT -- Points to Christ’s Judgment of Mankind and Rewarding of His People 3) FEAST OF TABERNACLES – Points to Christ’s Millennial Reign In this video teaching, Jim Staley goes deep into the prophetic meaning of the Feast of Trumpets, the ancient connection to the Messiah and the incredible relevance and meaning for us today.
