Today was an emotional day for many reasons. Some highs and too many lows. But the worse part of the day is over and the good part still feels that way. Ill simply thank my sister, Dr. Lori N. Taylor for the good parts. When I accepted my position as Director here in Managua Nicaragua, I believe my greatest step in this position was telling myself as much as I may be reluctant, I needed to tap into Dr. Taylors wealth of experience, ask for help, then be receptive to listening and learning. By doing so, Im already seeing demonstrable benefits. While it is true I still have a long road in front of me, much of it unpaved, I know i am going to succeed with a help from my little sister and maybe a few prescriptions of xanax. Also, to see my team here in Managua come together (Executuve Director Dr. Leticia Rojas and Director of Schools, Ely Elieth Silva (precipitated only from a late night email (while some on vacation)) their support during my first international meeting, made me look better than I may have deserved. I will not be distracted by the lows in my day. Thanks Dr. Taylor for your ongoing support. I hope you feel appreciated.
