Today was my day in hell or a nice preview. I wasnt exactly accused of taking someones bucket but it had that feeling. The person unhappy about their missing bucket, hunted it down and showed to me as said bucket. There was a label on the bucket that one of the student workers had put on weeks ago and when I tried to explain that this had to be done weeks ago I was told that was absolutely false because said bucket had been put on the shelf just the night before. When I tried explaining how that was impossible given that the student labeling the bucket had to have done it weeks ago... You can see the circle. It went downhill from there. In fact that may have been the best of the interaction. Another person showed up earlier and when I moved her purse off the work table onto the nice new shelves for purses and bags, letting her know that we had a place for purses so people could use the work tables, she became very upset. She informed me she was not going to continue her membership because she didnt want to feel someone was breathing down her neck. I did my best to talk her into staying. I really did not want her to leave and I tried to get her to explain to me after she had specifically said that she did not mind rules how my requesting people not use the work tables for their personal non-work items was not a rule she could live with. She walked out with all her belongings. So either I had two prima donnas who see the studio as their personal work space or I am the WORSE person at people interactions in the entire world. Of course it could be that both were true.
