Today was my first day of seeing my first round of providers. I - TopicsExpress

Today was my first day of seeing my first round of providers. I met with a nurse and a doctor and both were great! Everyone here has been amazing so far. The doctor is running more tests and going to study my previous tests from OSU, but right now he feels that while I do have cancer it is not as bad as OSU said. I may have cried and hugged him a little too tight when he told me that. I dont have an official diagnosis at this point, but he definitely made me feel better about my journey. Tomorrow, I will meet with my nurse, dietician (I really hope she does not try to take my Coke away from me..I may need rehab if that happens!), priest, and therapist. The facility is really all about the whole body healing and spirit healing, which I am very impressed with. Its not just my pancreas that is affected-its the whole package! The last day that I am here, I will meet with my oncologists and they will give me a treatment plan and options. Theres two things I like the most about this place so far-1)They keep saying cancer and the patients experience is the journey, our paths in life and 2]They refuse to give a patient life expectancy timelines. They say they are only doctors and providers to help the patient walk through their journey and God is the only one that knows when we will pass. I completely agree with both of their points. I am thankful for what OSU had done for me the past few months, but honestly, I am even more thankful that I confused them so much with my case because everything that has happened the past few months has led me here. The doc did say today that my case is rare and complex..leave it to me haha!! There is a lot of hope here. I miss Miles Keenan like crazy!! We talked for a little while tonight and watched Charlie Brown together while we were on the phone. We have watched Charlie Brown holiday specials since he was super tiny and even though it wasnt the same, it worked, and Im glad we got to do that tonight. Thank you all for your support and prayers and texts and thoughts and calls-everything! Team Tina is freakin awesome!!!! Please keep praying for Miles and my mom. Love you all!!
