Today was the first day back at work for our teachers--the first of 200, so only 199 more to go. We are nearing the end of what is seemingly the fastest summer in American history. I have mixed emotions, but mostly those of apprehension and, for lack of a better word, dread. I really dont like feeling this way, because I am all about our children and what is best for them. I teach for the outcome, not the income. My prayer for all of us educators is that we become a unified front, that we act as a team, and that all undercutting and undermining will cease to exist. We must respect each other as professionals and realize that everyone has something to contribute to the advancement of our charges. No one person has all the answers, but by working together, we can make a difference.
