Today we as a Church celebrate the Solemnity - the Great Feast of Christ the King, recognizing that of all the earthly political ideas and policies that we support or identify with - it is the Kingdom in Heaven that we strive for and we become Ambassadors representing our King, bringing to life the Gospel Message more than just in our words but in lives. Although some in our society want to lay claim to acts of service because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside, these secular groups which are wonderful public servants - like the rotary club, or environmental club, volunteer America - there mission is to assist in the greater good, but we as Christians do so because it is part of our identity - when we attend to the sick and feed the hungry and invite and welcome the outcast in - we do as our Lord commanded us. Let this Feast day be an opportunity for the world to see who we are, and whose we are - let the world know that we are Christians - by our love. The Kingdom of God is at hand - Viva Cristo Rey!!
