Today we celebrate the day that we decided we needed independence because "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights" ...while simultaneously attempting to ENSLAVE an entire race. We went to war because we thought it was wrong for the British to levy taxes on Americans without first giving them right to political representation, despite having been enslaving Africans for over 100 years and denying them the basic rights we demanded from the British.
