Today we said goodbye to beloved KD ayya at Borella cemetery for ever. He was a very rare kind of person who had an unlimited information of Sinhala film industry. KD was very difficult to interpret as a source of information if we evaluate him in using conventional tools. Some historical incidents and its analysis he made with first hand experiences were not appeared in any of documents or sources in our film history. He explained the story of Sinhala cinema in logical manner bridging some concealed facts to relevant points. He has a good enough knowledge on studio era of our cinema, the business trends and traps of Ceylon Theatres, Cinemas and Ceylon Entertainments. We as researchers are very unfortunate in absorbing this fountain to our researches. What kind of resource person today we lost or became ash? Though the media attraction or any authority of cinema were not there, it was nothing to KD. But for us? It is a vacuum hardly filled. We Sri Lankans missed him. We did not listen him enough. We did not document him. While we are busy with rubbish in this country, we missed him ultimately.
