Today when I left my vet clinic. There was a van parked next to me with two standard size poodles inside, panting and barking. The windows were cracked as Im sure the owner thought that was adequate ventilation, which it is not! I couldnt drive off and just leave them there as it was hot outside and I know it was very hot inside my own car, I feared for their safety. I then called back inside my vets office to see if it was one of the clients dogs but it was not. I got back out of my car and went inside GameStop in search of the owner. My intent was to educate him on the dangers of leaving pets inside a hot car. Wow, I did find the owner and he did not take kindly to my interfering. He claimed his dogs had only been inside the van for 15 minutes. Whether or not that is true I dont know, but I do know that they were panting and it was hot inside his van. I tried to explain to the man that it was against the law and he blew up at me. I told him I wasnt going to talk to him anymore and I was just going to call the police and he could explain his actions to the police. The man quickly exited the store, got into his van and drove off. I do have a picture of his van and of his two dogs inside the van panting. In fact I even have video. My only hope is that this man does NOT do this again or he might run into a crazy animal lover such as myself and have to endure another confrontation!!! Oh yeah, not afraid to confront you if you are not doing right by your animals!!!!!
