Today would be the 132nd Birthday of my paternal grandfather, Louis Frank Vremsak, of Kamnik Slovenia, who immigrated to the United States around 1907. My father, Louis Vremsak Jr. (Edward Voltaire Garren) was born on April 4, 1909. This photo was taken sometime between Louis arrival in New York City and my fathers birth. Louis later co-founded the Adria Motor Car company in Batavia New York and General Western Aero (aeronautics) in Los Angeles. He moved to Los Angeles in 1920 and is buried in the Acacia Garden at Forest Lawn Glendale, CA. I only wish my father had know him. Not having a father (that he knew) left a major chasm in his personality that haunted him all of his life. Fathers are incredibly important.
