Todays Devotion Topic: Just Say YES (Christmas Series 2) Text: Luke 1: 38 I am the Lord’s servant, Mary answered. Be it unto me according to thy word. Then the angel left her. Amen. What will it be like if angel Gabriel was sent to you this dawn? Initially you may be terrified. But after Hes calmed you down and told you how much God loves you, you will be expectant to hear that all your problems are gone, to appear no more. But what if he tells you that God wants to use you for the next difficult assignment? What if he told you to expect greater tribulations than you have faced? Will you receive it or will you faint? Mary was a young virgin when angel Gabriel appeared and addressed her as blessed and highly favoured. Like you will be, she was afraid but angel Gabriel asked her not to be. She was favoured and blessed among women. She was to conceive and give birth to a son, Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God would give Him the throne of His father David, and He was to reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end. “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. (read: Luke 1:26-37) Are these words not too strong and deep for anyone to bear? How can a peasant maiden give birth to the Son of the Most High? How can it be that this Son of hers can reign forever (is He immortal)? She is a virgin and must remain one till such a time that her marriage to Joseph was finalized, how is she to get pregnant before then? Beloved, the Word of God does not always echo what our ears itch to hear. Mostly it is very contrary to our laid down plans and aspirations. But all you need in your spirit is a YES LORD! Even if it doesnt really make logical sense; just say Be it unto me, according to thy Word. This is because as you receive the Word, the Holy Spirit will come on you and the power of the Almighty will overshadow you. Now all those things that are impossible, will give way for possibilities! You will literally notice the Holy Spirit QUICKEN your mortal body for exploits. Do not waste time arguing with the Lord anytime you are privileged to hear His Word for your life. That word will not return to Him void until it has accomplished the purpose for which it was sent. JUST SAY YES TO HIS WILL!
