Todays Morning Manna continues with the life of Hannah........ Why Hannah? First of all her name means Graciousness or Favor....so despite her situation God still defined her as having Favor......So the purpose for sharing the story of Hannah is to show Gods people - that even in barren situations God is still in the Throne...... Sometimes in life people will torment you and remind you of your barrenness - they will remind you of your flaws, your lack and what you are unable to produce at that in your life. Hannah was constantly being tormented by Penninah......so much so that she felt less than a woman....and became subject to her weeping...... Even Her husband (Elkanah) couldnt understand her reason for weeping....he said to Hannah - Why are you downhearted! Dont I mean more than ten sins? Yes, Penninah has given me children, but its you I love, Ignore her taunts. How could Hannah make him understand that even the best men could not erase a womans longing for children? His attempt to comfort her only sharpened the pain, heightening her sense of isolation.... Hannah story is so relatable and real - through her sorrow of being tormented and misunderstood we will learn how to proclaim Gods power and goodness over our lives....his habit of raising the lowly and humbling the proud.....
