Todays National Weather Forecast The end of the work week will once again bring stormy weather to the southeast U.S. and a continuation of a refreshing autumn preview to the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Rain and thunderstorms will continue to slam the Southeast and extend northward into the Tennessee Valley and southern Virginia. These storms will bring heavy rain along Florida`s panhandle and along the Southeast coast. High temperatures will reach the low 80s and will peak in the 90s across Florida. The southern and central Plains will also experience scattered thunderstorms that will open up to some sunshine throughout the day. Temperatures will range from the upper 80s to the 90s and into the 100s in southern Texas. Aside from scattered showers in the Pacific Northwest and a few clouds in the Northeast, the remainder of the U.S. will have sunny skies. High temperatures in the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast will be in the 70s while locations in the Appalachians will cool off into the 60s. The Rockies, Intermountain West and West Coast will have highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s with the Southwest reaching the triple digits. -Kevin 131
