Todays Prayer July 25, 2014 Good morning my dear Lord. I pray for patience in Jesus’ name. God, often I don’t have much patience. And I see many people today who want instant gratification and instant satisfaction. We want everything now and we can’t even wait two minutes. I’m like that more times than I admit and I’m sorry. I ask Your forgiveness. When I ponder my inner thoughts and my impetuousness, I look to You and I see how wonderfully patient You are with me. Your longsuffering brings me to my knees to praise You. Lord, it’s hard to wait for some things, especially when I’m waiting for Your intervention for a special need. I have friends who are sick and family members with a need; I don’t have to let You know what it is for You already know. But I give You the cries of my heart. I become angry at our feeble attempt to enact justice. And then You remind me. If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them. (Ecclesiastes 5:8) Your Word says: Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4) For all the times I have taken my eyes off of You, I became filled with fear, doubt, and anxiety. My worries prevented me from serving You the way I should. Give me strength, oh God! Increase my faith so my fear will leave me. Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. (Psalm 95:1-6) Lord, please help me to calm down, to be patient, to remember that You will take care of the situation in the right time; Your time. You are all-knowing and all-powerful. I put my trust in You even though I don’t always act like it. Help me to be more like Jesus. Thank You, Father God, for doing what is best for me, always, even when I can’t understand it. In the precious name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.💜
