Todays Word - Childrens food But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (Matthew 15:26, 27 NKJV) In the story above a Canaanite woman comes to ask The Lord to cast demons out of her daughter but The Lord tells her its not fit to give the childrens food to the dogs. Some would have perceived this as an insult but it wasnt. The Lord was saying that He had come to the house of Israel and not to foreigners. The Lord did however heal the child because of her faith. As The Lord had not yet been crucified on the cross for all, only Israel were considered children. However after the cross, all who believe are now children. Because of this, we are all fit to eat at His table. We do not have to beg for the crumbs that fall to the floor the little dogs. As children we are entitled to the bread of life. He is the bread He was referring to in the above verse. This is what He has done for His children and the bible says.. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering...he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed - Isaiah 53:3-5. All who eat of the bread of life receive its nutrients - freedom from demonic possession; garment of praise for depression; sorrow; broken heart; pain; suffering; stress; forgiveness of sin, oil of joy for those who mourn and healing. Now as the heavenly High Priest, Hes administering the bread Himself and His Spirit the wine to you. Have this assurance that we are entitled to all of these. We dont have to beg and plead for it, its our inheritance. Amen!
