Todays post is brought to you by an inspiring group of people that I am REALLY looking forward to working with over the next couple months. The gym that I train at, Woodland Fitness, is hosting a contest called the Thinner Winner. Contestants are going to compete in teams of 4 over the next 8 weeks to see which team can lost the most % of body fat. Whats great about this contest, is that it has absolutely nothing to do with the scale. In fact many will see the scale go up as they trade fat for lean muscle mass. Technically, the benefit is the chance to win 1000.00. But to me the true benefit (for everyone, not just the winning team) is the chance to start their new year out making new friends, learning healthy habits and developing an ongoing fitness routine. That said, I have NO DOUBT that one of my 3 teams will win this whole thing! Im proud to be the personal trainer for the following 3 teams: Stairmaster to Heaven (picture to come soon!) Lean Queens (left) Mission Slimpossible (right) This brings me back to you! Now that youve figured out a road map to get past your road blocks, lets talk about motivation. Whats going to motivate you on the tough days? The days when the weather is just miserable? The days when youre really tired or sore from your last workout? Is there a contest at your local gym that appeals to you? A 5k this Spring that you could commit to walk or run in? A hike you have always wanted to complete? Pick a physical goal that you can start working towards, and write it down on page 3 (told you wed get back to the empty pages!) Now look at what youve written.
