Todays sermon is on PRAISE. Psalm 150 is the last of the Psalms; a doxology...a climax to THE book of praises to God for His excellent greatness.. The Psalmist basically tells us were to praise God at all times, in all things....in heaven, and on earth. We sing a doxology in most all of our churches every Sunday, and yet the words become so repetitious that (to me) its just another part of the service we observe, that has to be done...sort of like the announcements? PRAISE is to be a summary: a quotient where you look at ALL aspects of your very being....add them all up, and realize how wonderful God is! In the Ruritans, we have awards ceremonys each year. They add all the hours up accrued by the clubs in certain categories; and at the end of the year banquet...theyll call someone from the club up to be recognized and receive the awards. The awards are either GOLD, BRONZE or SILVER, depending on the commitment. Friends realize this morning, if we were to hold an awards ceremony this morning for God? In EVERY category of your life...the award would be GOLD. PRAISE God from who ALL blessings flow! Think about it...theyll be an awards ceremony this morning....ours starts at 11 A.M. See you in church!
