Today’s Message September 8, 2013 To Be led by the Holy Spirit a Master Heart Surgeon is Required Jehova Rapha, (the Lord Who heals) I’m a new creation I’m a brand new man Old things have passed away I’ve been born again More than a conqueror That’s who I am I’m a new creation I’m a brand new man. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. BEHOLD! ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW! In just a few words this lively little song describes the zeal that filled our whole being on the day that we got saved. The very day that God delivered us (saved us) from His righteous, wrathful judgment due us because of our sins against Him. I vividly remember the day of my Salvation, May 1, 1991. I was ready to conquer the world for Jesus! Praise God for the Master Heart Surgeon, Jehovah-Rapha , The Lord Who heals. What He did was give me a brand new heart: Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 2 Corinthians 3:3 …clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. The Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God, is a promise from God, our Heavenly Father, to all who have been genuinely born from above. He comes to live within us and to give us eternal life. Ezekiel 36:27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. John 14:16-17 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. Ephesians 1:13 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 1 John 4:13 AMP “By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live, and remain) in Him, and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit” . 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. The Word of God is very clear in describing the great change that takes place within us on this day of our reckoning. The Holy Spirit fills us with God’s Power. Acts 1:8 AMP “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Ghost has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judaea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth”. 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a SOUND MIND”. 1John 4:4 NKJV “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” . Every born-again believer is born of the Spirit of God, and indwelt by the Spirit of God. His presence makes the believer’s body a temple, and seals him for God Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your salvation; in Whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. The New Testament distinguishes between having the Holy Spirit, which is true for all born-again believers, and being filled with the Holy Spirit, which is the privilege and duty for all believers. The Holy Spirit is the power of God. After being born-again, like Jesus, we must be empowered with the Holy Spirit. Every thing Jesus did, He did under the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit. Luke 4:18-19 18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” We must have the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon us in order to have the power of God and thereby fulfill His ministry in our lives. Practically speaking, living as a believer without the infilling of the Holy Spirit, is like receiving a brand new car with a brand new engine but there is no battery or gas in it. The car won’t go anywhere. It’ll just sit there, looking good. DO YOU HEAR ME! This beautiful new car will be of no service and therefore cannot fulfill the purpose for which it was created. It is the same with the born-again believer. Jesus gives us the authority, but it is the Holy Spirit who gives us the power or ability to be witnesses for Christ Jesus and to carry out His works. The power of the Holy Spirit enables us as believers to live in line with God’s Word, to grow spiritually, AND TO PRODUCE RESULTS THAT GLORIFY AND ARE PLEASING TO GOD! The Holy Spirit leads us.. Romans 8:14-16 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father (Oh Father, it’s a term of endearment).” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, If you would like to receive the free gift of eternal life, first you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven and put your trustin the Lord. There is only one way to heaven and that’s through the Lord Jesus. That’s God’s wonderful plan of salvation. You can begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by praying from your heart: Oh God, I’m a sinner, I’ve been a sinner all of my life. Forgive me, Lord. I receive Jesus as my Savior. I trust Him as my Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
