Today’s Word of the Day is Work. No, this isn’t a dirty four-letter word. Some people choose to think that they are too good for work. Others work hard to the detriment of other important things in life. God worked. He spent the first six days of creation working on a universe for us to live in. After each day, God said that it was good. He rested on the seventh day. God is our example. He worked hard for six days, then rested on the seventh. We should follow that example. The protestant work ethic is unique in that the worker, believing in the Holy Scriptures, works hard as unto the Lord. This work ethic works great in a capitalistic nation that fears the Lord. Capitalism and the Protestant Work Ethic made America great. Capitalism without God is cruel and tyrannical. Sadly, this is what we see happening in America. Our great citizens have lost their love of Jesus. Consequently, greed and selfishness is the result of capitalism without Christ. That is just what we are seeing in America. Return to the Lord. Work hard for Him if you are an employee or employer, blue collar or white collar, worker or boss.
