Tomorrow at the eleventh hour, HMS Calliopes Ships Company will observe a 2 minutes silence alongside our colleagues in the Army and RAF, at locations in Newcastle and Gateshead, to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Join us in paying your respects. Newcastle: Members of the public are invited to come along and pay their respects to those who died in two world wars and other conflicts, as a Remembrance Day parade winds through the streets of Newcastle, on Sunday. Troops will step off from Ceremonial Way at 10.15am, and march along Percy Street to Blackett Street, where they will form up ready for a memorial service. The parade and service is being led by military authorities and veterans associations, with The Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Councillor George Pattison and other council Members in attendance. Veterans taking part in the march will assemble on Leazes Lane at 10am ready to join the parade, while non-marching veterans will assemble at the Eldon Square War Memorial at 10.15am. The Lord Mayors procession will set off from Brunswick Church at 10.45am, arriving on The Square in front of the War Memorial, in time for the start of a two minute silence, which will start and finish with the firing of a gun. The Lord Mayors Chaplain will then begin the Service of Remembrance, which includes the laying of wreaths by the Lord Mayor and others. The Lord Mayors group then proceeds to the dais at Greys monument to take the salute, as the troops, cadets and veterans march away and up Northumberland Street. Gateshead The Service will commence at 10:45; it is requested that those present assemble at the Cenotaph, Prince Consort Road, no later than 10:40. It is anticipated that the Service will last for half an hour and will include a wreath-laying ceremony. There will be a March-Past after the Service outside the Central Library, Prince Consort Road where the Mayor and Deputy Lieutenant of Tyne & Wear will take the salute.
