Tomorrow our very special grandson Gabriel Edward will celebrate his 8 th birthday!! He has brought our families, both sides, more joy than I can ever express!! He has been more than a grandson, he is a little friend to all of us. Watching him grow and learn has been a personal blessing, I have learned so much from him about things and life in general. He started back when he was just a little tike teaching his Nana all about( his favorite thing) dirt bikes!! We would spend hours together watching dirt bike races and crashes on the computer, learning about all the equipment and the jargon. I have learned so much about soccer from him. Even though his dad played soccer, Gabe has played to a higher level and he has taught us something brand new!! My memories of this little boy are many, but one of my fondest was when he was the ring bearer for his Auntie Ash and Uncle Jons wedding three years ago. He took his job so seriously, that for a whole year he practiced at our house walking down the aisle with his pillow and dancing with his sister Sophia in our kitchen. He was ready to do his duties for the ceremony and ready to party at the reception!! All I can say is for the last 8 years he has held a very special place in my heart and always will!! Happy, happy birthday Gabe, thank you for being you and bringing us all so much happiness with your sweet, kind demeanor( the way you worry about your sisters and the dog Murphy), your tough athletic ability( we love watching you compete in all your sports, including your dirt bike) proud of you for how hard you work to get those top grades at school and the way you show so much caring to your friends when they are down. What a stupendous boy you are and how lucky are Pappy and I to be grandparents!! You once told me that the most important thing is to be in a family that loves you! Wow, you might just be a young boy but that was spoken like an old soul!!Love you--have a great birthday weekend!
