Tomorrow we look at Philippians 2 which speaks of the two advents of Jesus alongside a quote from the Book of Virtues, compiled by William Bennett. Bennett states: ...when we fail to pass along specific standards of right and wrong, of what is worthwhile or worthless, admirable or ignoble, then we must share the blame for the consequential failings of character. Our civilization is in need of drive, people who take ownership, unselfish citizens… Bennett quotes Lewis: In a sort of ghastly simplicity we remove the organ and demand the function. We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the gelding be fruitful.
