Tonight, Amy and I were in Kohls looking at the baby clothes when a woman with an adorable baby boy walked by. We told her how cute he was and made small talk. She told us she was a foster mom for medical/fragile children. We asked if he was sick, and she told us that now he was healthy. But she got him at 12 weeks old due to a skull fracture from abuse. She said that tomorrow he comes off medical/fragile status and will go to his new foster home. Tomorrow she will also pick up an 18 month old girl at Vanderbilt. She has been in the hospital for an extra week due to the fact that there was no one to take her. Needless to say, after we parted ways me and Amy both had tears in our eyes. It is a sad world we live in that a person could mistreat a child, much less their own. My heart breaks for children in foster care. God bless all you foster parents out there. You guys are angels on earth, and make a huge difference in these helpless childrens lives. Dawna Cook Price and Keith Price, I never really put it together what you guys have done, but tonight this lady helped me see your good deeds in a brand new light. Thank you for being so selfless to open your home to kids in need for all these years.
