Tonight I stopped to pick up Chinese take out on my way home; as I - TopicsExpress

Tonight I stopped to pick up Chinese take out on my way home; as I was about to walk in there was a Boy Scout with his mother selling popcorn as a fundraiser. He asked a grown man if he would be interested in buying some, the guy laughed at him said hell no kid and walked away. I felt horrible as this boy (about 10 years old) looked like he was going to cry and his mothers heart broken trying to keep his confidence up. I walked by and the boy never said a word to me, he was distraught. Instead of punching the guy out telling him what an ass he was (I wasnt in the mood to go to jail tonight) I walked by again and said to him, Excuse me, you never told me what you were selling, he responded but didnt seem confident. I told him I didnt want any popcorn but I commended him for being out on a Friday night with his Mother raising money for a great organization. I told him I would just like to donate with no purchase and I gave him $10. The boy and his mother both smiled and I could feel the happiness in both of their hearts. I admit, I may have let out a few tears of the joy I brought to someone today. Morale of the story, always try to make someones day, you can never go wrong and you will only make the world a better place. Have a great weekend all.
