Tonight I will be able to sleep upright. This morning Rich and I took care of two trees on the fence line. One was already felled but the other one we had to take down. We use a wood stove in the cabinet shop. We also have one in the house basement. It looks like a giant octopus. In the afternoon we dug up all the carrots, all four rows. I will be picking some more apples and quartering them tomorrow, so the carrots must wait. I will be canning a good portion of them but will be doing the prep work on Friday for them. I will probably can them on Monday. The weekends are devoted to home-cookin for the boys. After the carrots, we decided to clean out the cattle water, just the one. That is above and beyond the typical chores that we do. Tonight I have it easy. Im making pork steak and baked potatoes with green beans. Im beat. Rich and Jason are at our house in town. The renter want our lumber out to make room for a couple of snow-mobiles. Its a four car heated garage but he is such a good renter, gotta keep him happy. We will do anything for our precious renter. He knows it. Tomorrow Rich will be moving that lumber into the big shed, in the warm side. I will spend the majority of the day quartering apples.
