Tonight Sally and I saw My Name Is Rachel Corrie and came away so - TopicsExpress

Tonight Sally and I saw My Name Is Rachel Corrie and came away so very impressed by the ability of Casey Turner, who plays Rachel in this one-woman show, to draw us into her vibrant inner and outer worlds and pace us with no flat spots for the 90 minutes of the show. And, surprisingly, given Rachels real life story, the play is not at all a downer. Rachel (as played by Casey) is so engaging, so verbally fresh and inventive, that we simply rejoice that such a person turned aside from the slick allurements of consumerism America and sought meaning by pursuing a better world for those to whom better is denied. The only downer is that the theatre space was only about 1/4 full, but those present gave Ms. Turner a rousing standing ovation at plays end. I hope youll go see it.
