Tonight as I was driving home, I was stopped at a major - TopicsExpress

Tonight as I was driving home, I was stopped at a major intersection for a red light. Noticed sitting on the sidewalk, a young man with his dog huddled together for warmth. He was holding a sign that read Doc & I are homeless. Please help. His face was kind and humble, but riddled with meth sores. As I drove off, I could not get this picture of the two of them out of my mind. It was gnawing at me, and so a few blocks away, I turned my car around and drove back. I rolled my window down, and asked if he was hungry. His face lit up as he said yes. I told him I would be back, and to please wait. At a nearby Vons, I purchased a sandwich, chips, two bottles of water, and a small bag of dog kibble. When I returned, no sooner did I hand him the grocery bags, but Doc was dancing and sniffing, and this young man was down on the sidewalk unwrapping that sandwich like it was Christmas morning, but not before thanking me very humbly. I told him whatever path he was on, I hoped God would turn it around for him. As I left, I could not help but think somewhere someones heart is aching for this young man. There but for the grace of God go any of us.
