Tonight, i was shown courtesy by a man i once showed kindness. I was forced to park illegally outside the pharmacy to pick up the box of medicines & supplies i ordered earlier when i saw an approaching uniformed police. In a flash, i mentally prepared a strong argument on why i shouldnt be slapped with a ticket/parking violation. As he neared, i said, Sir, kadiyot lang. Ako lang i-pick up ako mga medisina. I was prepared to hear him say Maam, kabasa ka anang NO PARKING sign? But instead, he replied, Good evening, doc. I recognized that this policeman was once a patient i took care of. He then directed the errand boy to load the heavy box into the trunk, then sent me merrily on my way. Whew! He just saved me a trip to LTO, a seminar & a few hundred pesos for parking violations! The medicines, by the way, will be donated to a remote island barangay in Guiuan. Lesson: Be kind to people, esp the police. They always know how to repay a kindness shown them. ♡♡
