Tonight is the first night since the beginning of May that I dont need to figure out a plan for soccer practice or the substitution plan for a game. Thats not a complaint just an observation. It has been a great experience for me. I learned how to be a more supportive parent. (No amount of yelling instructions like shoot, pass etc from the sideline will ever make a child a better soccer player). I learned that soccer is a great sport because unlike other sports it is about creativity, risk taking and decision making in addition to the technical aspects. Best of all I learned things about Zia that I wouldnt if I had been a casual observer on the sideline. That being said, for Zias own good she needs a break from her old man being the coach.
