Tonight was the launch of my soon to be official nonprofit, Dinners on Maxx. Special thank-you from ME to everyone who made a donation, my team of volunteers who made it to help me tonight, and everyone who shared/shares my charity on their pages and spreads the word. We received applause for our act of kindness tonight as well as many of the patrons thanked us personally. One of them said they dont get to eat food like this often and that they could tell a lot of love went into the food because of the way it was prepared and presentation. The cafeteria is set up so that one can put each individual dish in a pick up window, but we wanted to do something different, we went a step farther and had water, tea, and salads waiting at the table and we served the entrees and dessert to them at their seat. They said they felt like they were dining out in a restaurant. Overall, they really loved it. I cried THREE times. Mostly because of the gratitude, but also because of the way my friends showed up tonight to support me in my new venture. Its a pretty freakin awesome feeling.
