Your Aunt Jenni and I drove down the Las Vegas strip in November of 1971, and what seemed like a big deal then is lost in what is now Las Vegas. I know you’ve been to Vegas a ton, so I thought I would teach you a little known fact about Hoover Dam which is 30 miles out of town on The Colorado River. There were 112 deaths associated with the construction of the dam. The first was J. G. Tierney, a surveyor who drowned on December 20, 1922, while looking for an ideal spot for the dam. His son, Patrick W. Tierney, was the last man to die working on the dam, 13 years to the day later. Now that is weird. However, it is not as weird as Las Vegas. Love, Dad
