Tonights fire prevention message is being shared from our partners - TopicsExpress

Tonights fire prevention message is being shared from our partners at the Douglas Forest Protective Association. DFPAs Fire Prevention Specialist Kyle Reed reminds us all that just because some cooler temperatures and relatively minor amounts of rain may have recently moved through parts of Oregon, the small benefits those may have temporarily provided to those areas are quickly wearing off. The human-caused . . . Roberts Mountain Road Fire [started this afternoon] is a good reminder of how easily fires can start and spread out of control. With normal to above normal temperatures returning . . . , everyone is asked to use caution when working or recreating in wildland areas. . . . And, about those normal temperatures, remember, its mid-August and normal at this time of year generally means hot - pretty much throughout all of Oregon. Be fire-safe while recreating or working in Oregons forests for the remainder of this summer and into the autumn - actually, not just then, but at all times! And, with that reminder for us all, have a wonderful rest of the evening and week-end, everyone. Jeri
