Too harsh? Dear HMRC, I write in regard to the second letter you have sent me about Miss ****. I enclose a copy of the letter which is an exact copy of the one you sent me on 8th August and bears no reference to the fact I have already replied, copy of that letter also enclosed. I have also telephoned the number given on the said letter and been informed that this is not the correct telephone number to ring. This means I am unable to directly discover why you are having difficulties processing any of the information I have sent so I can’t help you sort it out other than by sending you the information yet again. So, I am resending you Miss *****’s P45. This will be the third time I have sent it to you. Once electronically – record enclosed of my Full Payment Submission report which clearly lists her as a leaver. Then again manually in response to your first letter and here it is again, enclosed for a third time. I trust this will suffice. Should you fail to process this information and send me yet another letter I will be forced to charge HMRC an administration fee of £35 to cover my time and costs. You can consider this the equivalent of the penalty you would happily charge me were I to blink in the wrong direction. Hopefully that’s all sorted then.
