Topic: Racial Inequality in College Acceptance Racial inequality is a huge problem in America. Minorities are often disadvantaged when applying to colleges. The current law mandates, or encourages, that colleges accept a certain percentage of minorities to maintain diversity and racial equality. However, this means that less qualified minorities are often accepted in place of qualified whites and other majorities. The solution to this is to remove the race category on college applications. This way, all applicants are judged solely on their merit and accomplishments rather than race when applying to colleges. Critics argue that minorities will once again be disadvantaged. This could happen, and the solution to this is concentrating on racial equality in earlier stages of schooling. Thus, they can be competitive with advantaged whites and other majorities and level the playing field for all. Comment your thoughts and criticisms!
