Tough Media and Terrorism Laws in Kenya Worrying Crimiinal Journalists and Politicians Such tough laws indeed can hand authoritarian governments and agencies with little public accountability tools with which to violate privacy, curtail the free flow of information, and restrict freedom of expression. However, Kenya is a modern democracy and has shown no intent of slipping back to dictatorial regimes. Those afraid of these laws are criminals who hide behind these firewalls to pour vitriol on socio-politics in the country. Unless you are a criminal, you should never fear laws.
