**Traffic Advisory** From Oregon Department of Transportation: U.S. 30 Paving Project, NW NcNamee Road to Milepost 17.93 Weather permitting, Cornelius Pass Road will be closed at U.S. 30 and U.S. 30 will be down to one lane in each direction the night of Monday, June 17 for paving. The closure will begin at 8 p.m. on Monday night, with Cornelius Pass Road closed to all traffic to and from U.S. 30. The intersection will re-open by 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. Motorists can detour around the closure using Newberry and Logie Trail roads to Skyline Boulevard. One lane will remain open in in each direction on U.S. 30 during the closure of the Cornelius Pass Road intersection. This closure is necessary so an ODOT contractor can grind, seal and pave the bridge over McCarty Creek, just east of the Cornelius Pass Road intersection. This work is part of a paving project that began earlier this summer between McNamee Road in Multnomah County and milepost 17.93, just east of the Columbia County line. In addition, U.S. 30 will be reduced to one lane in each direction near Cornelius Pass Road starting at 7 p.m. tonight (Jun 16), with all lanes open by 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. The traffic signal at the Cornelius Pass Road intersection will be shut off on both nights and traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Left turns from westbound U.S. 30 onto Cornelius Pass Road and any adjacent driveways will also be restricted. This work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if it rains on any of these nights. After this paving work is complete, the contractor will clean up the new asphalt (removing any asphalt "blobs") throughout the project area and then apply permanent lane striping. If all goes well, the paving project should be substantially complete within a few weeks. For details on the U.S. 30 Paving Project, click the link below.
