Transforming agriculture in Andhra Pradesh Interacted with ICRISAT executives on ways to transform agriculture in the next five years and make our state drought-free. Farmers are the backbone of our country. They are the sons of the soil. Throughout the year, they engage in various practices from tilling the land to sowing, harvesting and selling the produce. To make farming sustainable and profitable, our government has asked ICRISAT to work on innovative science and technologies that will increase agricultural productivity. Ensuring food security and improving livelihoods of farmers is our governments aim. We are confident that Andhra Pradesh will become the top state in agriculture.
