It is expected that the Transload Operator will have the ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies. Responsibilities / Job Duties: • The position of Transload Operator is responsible for the daily unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquid and dry products• Ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies• Ability to operate or learn to operate railcar loading systems and equipment• Ability to perform work safely and productively• Ability and interested in being cross trained on all functions at facility• Strong work ethic• Willingness to follow procedures• Keeps work area clean• Is not afraid to ask questions• Can accurately fill out all necessary paperwork• Enforces safety policies and procedures with other employees and visitors• Ability to perform general maintenance on equipment• Assist with handyman duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep and painting)• Interact with other team members• Interact with customers, railroad crews, and visitors• Understands customer needs Requirements/Qualifications:• Read, write, and understand English• Basic math skills• Computer skills (light data entry)• Valid Drivers License• Capable to learn how to operate and maintain railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium sized equipment, etc.)• Ability and willingness to travel to other transload terminals to assist when necessary; may be for up to a week at a timeEducation/Experience:• High School Diploma or GED equivalentPhysical Requirements:• Physically able to climb up and down railcars/ladders safely• Willing to receive general safety training• Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)• Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials• Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds• In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)Qualified candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check, Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Physical.
