Traumatized by war, recession, and social turmoil, Americans dont appear to even notice whats being done to them any more. From the NY Times front page this morning: U.S. Training Elite Antiterror Troops in Four African Nations By ERIC SCHMITT American Special Operations troops are forming elite units in Libya, Niger, Mauritania and Mali, countries that American officials say are pivotal in the widening war against Al Qaeda’s affiliates in Africa. Sound familiar? It should, if youre old enough to remember Vietnam. The language is also very familiar. Its not that the US is widening the war, and in fact nobody is. Its just getting wider all by itself. A close reading of this type of Pentagon bullshit boilerplate tells us not only what the brass hats have in mind for Africa, but is a primer on how we got to be as dumb as we are today. DONT BE FOOLED AGAIN!!
