Tribute to our fellow,a great motorcycle traveler,explorer. Che Guevara.(death annivercery,Oct.09) Che Guevara, (Ernesto Guevara de la Serna) (Born June 14, 1928, Rosario, Santa Fe,Argentina. Guevara was the eldest of five children in a middle-class family of Spanish-Irish descent.He completed his medical studies in 1953. He spent many of his holidays traveling in Latin America, and his observations of the great poverty of the masses convinced him that the only solution lay in violent revolution,born into an upper-middle-class family, displaying his willingness to fight and die for the cause of the poor, and his dream of seeing a united Latin America. Che Guevara, then a 23-year-old medical student, and his friend Alberto Granado, a 29-year-old biochemist. Leaving Buenos Aires, Argentina, in January 1952 on the back of a sputtering single cylinder 1939 Norton 500cc, named La Poderosa ll The Mighty One, they desired to explore the South America they only knew from books ,with the idea of eventually spending a few weeks volunteering at the San Pablo Leper colony in Peru on the banks of the Amazon River. They traveled nine months by motorcycle, steamship, raft, horse, bus, and hitchhiking, covering more than 8,000 kilometres (5,000 mi) across places such as the Andes, Atacama Desert, and the Amazon River Basin. In total, the journey took Guevara through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, and to Miami, before returning home to Buenos Aires. He died October 9, 1967,(aged 39),La Higuera, Vallegrande, Bolivia.His last resting place is Che Guevara Mausoleum, Santa Clara, Cuba.
