Trip to New Lanark will be Monday 28th October. Train from Central Station just after 9am, arrives at Lanark at approx 10.15. The Staff will be there waiting for you at the station. From there it is a downhill walk (15 mins) or shuttle bus, which takes about 5 minutes. Those not travelling from Glasgow by train please meet us at The Visitor Centre at New Lanark at 10.45 at the latest. Concesssionary rate of £7 per head is excellent value! If you wish to bring a packed lunch, a room will be provided for you at 12.30. However, there is a cafe with an extensive menu available. This excursion links in with at least 3 of the HNC units - Curriculum and Assessment/Theoretical approaches/Language, Literacy and Numeracy. It also covers historical social issues, which relate to Contemporary Issues. Aside from all that, it is a very enjoyable day, where we can all get to know one another better (and it gets us out of college!) N.B. Very poor reception in the area for mobile phones!
