Troubleshooting for you Sewing Machine No matter how careful you - TopicsExpress

Troubleshooting for you Sewing Machine No matter how careful you are when using your machine, it is inevitable that there will be occasional problems. These ate some of the most common questions I get asked. Uneven Stitches. Make sure the feed dogs are operating, or increase the pressure of the pressure foot so that it progresses the fabric steadily and consistently. Skipped or missing stitches. Needle is bent or blunt. Upper thread may be incorrect (using cheap thread), needle incorrectly threaded. Loose Bobbin stitches. Loopy threads under the fabric are likely to be due to poor threading, different top and bottom thread, or poor tension. Check that they ate the same thread, if this does not fix the problem loosen the needle tension slightly. Disappearing fabric. The fabric may push down I to the machine below the feed dogs, jamming the mechanism. This can damage the machine as well as the fabric. This can be caused by too thick a needle for the weight of the fabric. Make sure you are using the straight stitch foot with fine fabrics. Stretching seams and hems. If the wrong foot is fitted, fabrics can be permantly stretched making seams and hems ripple. Fit a walking foot or my preference os a roller foot. This roller foot is worth purchasing. I hope that this information is helpful. Talk again with more tips soon. Christeen
