True story: I went to watch the Portugal game where American Outlaws Durham were gathering. It was too damn crowded, and I was too burnt out to watch the game outside in 85 degree heat. So I left, and went to my old standby sports bar to watch in AC. I was there about an hour early, and it was nearly empty. To my surprise, by the time kickoff rolled around, the place was filling up with #USMNT fans! Long story short, had a great time with a bunch of crazy futbol fans. But heres the thing. 2 seats down was an older, local-yocal, who was there to watch whatever the drive-around-in-circles event was that was on the other TV. And he was WAY into it - talking smack about cars and drivers and a lot of other macrobrewed stuff that I was not keeping up with. By the half, he had moved down and sat next to me. He wanted to know how soccer worked - readily admitted that he didnt get it at all. I have NEVER enjoyed explaining offsides as I did then. The party was live, and he wanted in. Regardless of outcome, win #USMNT. #IBelieve.
