Trumans nightly update: Trus first 24 hours home has proven to be difficult for everyone, but mainly him. It requires 2 people and 2 slings to get him up and about. He went out 3 times today and walked around the yard. He pretty much gets carried outside, lots of help on the stairs and then hes off. He wants to go go go but we have to hold him back. His front legs are working great but hes still very wobbly in the back. We have to change his position every few hours, which requires us to pick him up and put him down on his opposite side. Countless pad/bedding changes. Hes eating and drinking on his bed since he still cant stand for that long. His meds consist of 12 pills in the morning, 5 pills in the afternoon, 10 in the evening and another 5 at 11 pm. Honestly, last night, I was concerned that I was WAAAY in over my head. Maybe he should have stayed at the vet a little longer. Then, Bessie tried to play with him and they took a nap together. Truman rolled over on his side to have his belly rubbed and looked at me with his big, dopey grin, and I knew we made the right decision. Thanks to Rachel Paliotta Wilson and Jeffrey Wilson for hanging out, helping out and running errands last night. Thanks to Evan Dwyer, Maureen Dwyer-Hardink and Alex for helping out today. If not for all of you, the past 24 hours would have NEVER gone as smoothly as it did...even thought it was still pretty damn bumpy. đŸ˜·đŸ˜źđŸ˜Źâ€ïž GreatDane Rescue
