Trust (2011) is an intense and compelling film that is about every parents worst nightmare. Annie is a fourteen year old girl who has been chatting with a fifteen year old named Charlie in an online teen chat room. Turns out Charlie is a thirty-five year old pedophile predator. The film stars Clive Owen and Catherine Keener as the parents of Annie who is played by Liana Liberato. Liberato is excellent in her role as we see her being lured in by Charlie who she later meets at a hotel and is raped. The film details the aftermath of this horrible incident and we see Annie painfully deal with the incident. Keener who it seems is the wife or girlfriend in every movie Ive seen recently deals with the aftermath in a totally different manner than Owens character. It is a realistic portrayal and contains information that every parent with children should know. The film is directed by David Schwimmer of Friends fame who is a rape prevention activist.
