Truth and Reconciliation. Without truth, reconciliation is not possible. Until we (settler Canadians) acknowledge the truth of the genocide perpetrated against the First Nations people, we cannot expect to find meaningful reconciliation. Lets stop quibbling over definitions and qualifiers that are merely scapegoats for responsibility and own this truth and all be healed in the process, together.
