Trying to get prospective and look upon this as a crises. Yesterday we got up at 5:30 to get to DIA for our flight to Salt Lake City. Plans were to pick up rental car and drive the 5 hours to Sun Valley, Idaho for a week long vacation. There is a big figure skating competition this weekend and the days before are full of clinics and lessons with new coaches. All kinds of skating fun. There is even an outdoor rink. So, our flight was cancelled when plane got there for mechanical reasons. They booked us on a late flight to Boise which is only 2 1/2 hours from Sun Valley, Problem was luggage was sent to Salt Lake on a later flight. Manager at SW air promised to get bags returned from Salt Lake and put on plane to Boise with us at night. After 13 hours killing time at DIA we flew to Boise and guess what - no luggage. Everything was in luggage including ice skates and meds. Only luck was finding a 24 hour Walmart to buy clean underwear at midnight. Checked into room at 2:30, got room and they had given us the wrong key. Olivia missed all of the morning activities including a private lesson with a coach she wanted to work with. It was his only opening. Olivia was on the verge of a melt down (ok I was too), just waiting to see if luggage came in on the morning flight from Denver. Wish us luck. Really sucky way to start a vacation.
