Trying to wrap my head around this... Alex has had significant clinical changes from just 2 weeks ago. He is having seizures and his left side has a profound loss of strength. His left hand is not as functional (he cant even put on his socks) and even his beautiful smiles are uneven. He refuses the chemo that made him so sick, which likely didnt work anyways, and we havent found any trials. It was recommended to meet with the hospice team. We were also told to think about having an early birthday party (his 13th bday is February 23) and if theres something he wants to do or somewhere else he wants to go, do it now. Alex didnt want to talk about it, he just partially buried his head in the pillow and played In Christ Alone on his iPad; a song I know he plays when he is scared. I feel like Ive been in denial of his symptoms and as a family we need time to digest this. Thank you for the continued prayers, love and support; God bless, mom.
