Tuesday: Judy is getting stronger in her attempts at walking. She is still pretty sore and tries diligently to take deep breaths. We will know more tomorrow (I hope) about a plan for discharge. Her face was a mixture of gratitude, joy and sadness as Pastor Mike Dent walked through the door. It could not have been better scripted. She so needed the love and caring demonstrated through the cards, the quilt, the journal, candy...(I am sorry if I miss some one). Bottom line, she is so very grateful and all of the items provided a visual representation of the love for her and Bob. Bob had a drainage tube placed in his abdomen in a minor procedure in CT scan. This will help drain the fluid from his abdomen. He is being treated for pneumonia as well (to be expected with an extended time on the ventilator). They hope Thursday is surgery for a tracheostomy, getting a feeding tube placed and a stent in his liver to facilitate continued drainage and healing. He opened his eyes and smiled at us today. So nice to see his eyes. His care continues to be totally amazing. So grateful! Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. Dave, Larry and I are so very grateful for all of you and for one another.
